It was stuck at "configuring interface". Somehow, these below commands solved my problem. sudo systemctl stop wpa_supplicant.service sudo systemctl mask wpa_supplicant.service. Now Reboot your computer and run. sudo systemctl unmask wpa_supplicant.service sudo systemctl start wpa_supplicant.service. Share.
KDE Plasma Networks allowing Ethernet connection. Anyone else having trouble with this, it started after an update to 5.14 through the backports PPA. I'm able to use sudo ifdown/sudo ifup to enable my ethernet connection, but KDE Plasma Networks doesn't allow me to connect. Sometimes i can get it to try and it hangs at "Setting Network Address".
You will never get extra features in GSConnect that require protocol support. KDE Connect (Qt) runs on Linux, BSD, MacOS, Windows and SailfishOS, while the Android app has it's own codebase. The goal of GSConnect is to integrate into GNOME Shell in ways that aren't possible or appropriate for a cross-desktop application like that. I could connect to my VPN through my router and probably avoid this, but that doesn't work for me as I have devices that must connect outside of a VPN (devices for streaming stuff like Netflix which don't allow VPN's anymore). I feel somewhat like an inverse tangent function that's approaching an asymptote. Offline.
It uses gyroscope sensor for pointing not touch. So if you want to use it , places your hand on the pointer button. A pointer would appear on the screen . Then move your phone in the direction you want the pointer to move to . OR. pretend your phone is a laser pointer, the same way you use a laser pointer is the same way to move the phone.
1. I am trying to remote control my laptop using KDEConnect. It works, in the sense that it changes the mouse location, but the mouse icon remains in the same place, giving no indication where I am at the screen of my laptop. My laptop have Ubuntu 18.04 version, and my phone is a Huawei Mate 10 Pro with the latest EMUI.

Sometimes, KDE Connect will not detect a phone. You can restart the services by running killall kdeconnectd and then opening kdeconnect in system settings or running kdeconnect-cli --refresh followed by kdeconnect-cli -l .

It does not rely on the KDE Connect desktop application and will not work with it installed. KDE Connect allows devices to securely share content like notifications or files and other features like SMS messaging and remote control. The KDE Connect team has applications for Linux, BSD, Android, Sailfish, iOS, macOS and Windows.
KDE Connect is really cool, but I wish it had a Bluetooth backend or any other way to have a direct connection tot he computer, without a middle man like the router. Some of us have direct connection to the internet without any router (PPPoE).
