Been looking into it in more detail and it would seem my engine is a SE model. My car handbook says that the only 1.6 engine available for my model was a SE and there is no mention of the S. I also spoke to someone that works for ford who told me.. There isnt any difference. This engine is called various things - Zetec-S, Zetec-SE, Sigma What type of engine is in a 2001 Ford Focus? The timing belt broke sitting at a stoplight and we were told if it were a certain kind of engine then more than likely nothing was damaged. Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 Hesitation, misfire. Whilst driving steadily i am experiencing brief moments of hesitation/misfire.I have renewed the fuel filter and there are no engine management lights on.This is happening in an erratic/spasmodic manner.any ideas please?

Now when starting, the rev's hit their normal 1100-1200 rpm, but hang in there slightly longer than what they did last week. What suprises me more, is the weather recently has been hot, so why should the rev's hang about.
