3 days ago · What a bike! Then the 1090 and 1190. Well, they’ve all been replaced with KTM’s biggest ever machine – the 1290 Super Adventure R. This is a behemoth of a bike and takes on BMW’s mighty GS Adventure. And KTM aren’t messing about… the 1290 is a serious machine capable of anything you throw at it.
I don’t have one (yet) but everything I’ve read and watched says it’s an amazing machine with great reliability. I only have it’s little toddler brother, the 500 EXC-F, and it’s been an absolute blast so far! The Super Adventure is next for me.
1. Location. Peak District. Apr 11, 2015. #1. just started the bike up and the display panel showed "GENERAL FAILURE" on my 2014 1190 Adv (just 1450 miles one the clock). I called the KTM dealer who suggestd that had Seen this before when the battery was running low. To be fair I charged the bike up for an hour and warning disappeared.

4 posts · Joined 2021. #12 · Jan 27, 2023. Most of my 2022 890 Adventure R riding is on roads, both pavement and gravel. My experience is that at most highway cruising speeds, the 890 is turning in the mid 4,000s and is at happy point in the torque curve for strong acceleration for passing and hill climbing.
KTM revealed the 2014 1190 Adventure R. The new model year keeps all the core values of its predecessors featuring an unstoppable character, faultless ergonomics and a great maneuverability.
2016 KTM 1190 R Yesterday I installed a stage II Rottweiler Canister and SAS removal kit. At the same time, I installed a Cyclops LED headlight upgrade. Now, when I ride and get mildly spirited, about 5 seconds after I let of the throttle I get a General Failure warning and the Fuel Gauge starts flashing.
For model year 2015, KTM will add to its ADVENTURE range and take it even further with the new KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE. As its name suggests, the 1290 builds on the current 1190 ADVENTURE . It will sit alongside in the diverse KTM Street range next year but the high-end machine will add a different dimension and choice for those who want the
